Road Trip

Sean, Griffin, Leo, Jake and I took our first road trip last week!  We drove down to San Francisco to see Kara while she was on spring break.  We were definitely a little nervous about the trip because all in all its about a 10 hour journey.  We broke the trip up into two half days and left the majority of the mileage to do at night while Griffin was sleeping.  He did great, only two meltdowns :)  In all honesty though it could have been much worse and I really think he did awesome, I mean that is a really long time for a baby to sit and occupy himself!

Back home we go :(

Highlights from our trip included dinner with our friend Megan, wine tasting picnic in Napa, a long hike in the Berkley Hills and a wonderful day trip to San Francisco.  Even with all of that, my favorite times were hanging in Kara's backyard in the sunshine with Griffin stripped down to a diaper.  I loved watching him soak up the outdoors while pulling out fistfuls of grass from the lawn.  Bath time in Kara's kitchen sink required lots of scrubbing to get those dirty fingernails clean!  We had a wonderful time, the weather was awesome and the company was even better :)  The pups enjoyed hanging out with their cousin Nala too!  All in all it was a wonderful family vacation!
